  • 14th Annual Scotch-Tasting Gala
    May 13, 2017
    5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

14th Annual Scotch-Tasting Fundraiser, Saturday, May 13, 2017

Please join us for our 14th annual Scotch-tasting at the Littlefield Celtic Center in Mount Vernon, WA!   This popular event is for members of the Celtic Arts Foundation only. If you are not currently a member, please join or renew here before signing up for the Scotch-Tasting.

Social time will begin at 5:30pm, with the Scotch-tasting and Dinner starting at about 6:30pm. The program will include live music and exciting new whiskys for 2017! The evening concludes around 9:00pm.

The purpose of our Scotch-tasting gala is to have a great evening, learn about whisky, and to raise money to support the operations of the Celtic Arts Foundation. This is the only major fundraising event we do all year, and as such, we sincerely appreciate each and every donation made. RSVPs are required. Please help us ensure a great event by registering your RSVP as early as possible.

There are no  contribution limits, however, the minimum expected donation for the dinner is $100 per person. As you celebrate with us we invite you to make an additional donation, or pledge-over-time, to help us “sponsor, encourage and promote Celtic culture through events and educational activities.” For your convenience, we will gladly set up monthly automatic deductions, or you can make a one-time donation at the event.

Menu

The Scotch-Tasting Gala features a stunning six-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Gilbert Rodriguez of Skagit Valley College’s Culinary Arts program. Each course is expertly paired to complement a featured whisky. This year, in partnership with Glenfiddich, we will be offering a variety of Glenfiddich and Balviney single malts. Chef Rodriguez and our whisky experts will discuss the flavor profiles of each pairing as it is being served. The 2016 menu is available below.

Jura 10-year-old from the Island region, paired with forest mushrooms, rosemary sponge, and olive oil

Springbank 10-year-old from the Campbelltown region, paired with smoked hen, chipotle, avocado, and corn shoots soup

Aberlour 16-year-old from the Speyside region, paired with braised beef, ginger snap, and lemon

Oban 14-year-old from the Highland region, paired with brown butter cookies, bitter chocolate, honey, and fruit

Ardbeg 10-year-old from the Islay region, paired with coffee-smoked duck, parsnip, orange, and red eye gravy

Glenkinchie 12-year-old from the Lowlands region, paired with lemon cheesecake, herbs de province, and black pepper

Our meals regularly feature meat, dairy, eggs, wheat, and other known allergens. If you have dietary restrictions or concerns, please contact us at least 10 days before the event so we may make special accommodations with the chef.
